Our current research areas focus on:
1. Control of offshore wind power plants with HVDC links
2. Design and control of modular multilevel converters for HVDC applications
3. Development of robust control strategies for grid forming converters in HVDC and HVAC grids
4. Wind and solar power short-term forecasting
5. Modelling and design of battery storage systems for power applications
6. Degradation and characterization of Li-ion cells
Moreover, we are personally committed to work for a more sustainable energy future so we are also interested in:
– Electric vehicles
– Smart grids and distributed generation
– Domestic energy consumers empowerment
– Industrial energy efficiency
